A-Z of Lynette

So, I’ve been meaning to do this for MONTHS now…but my blogging habits have been a bit hit and miss with life and work taking priority. Now that I’m getting back into my old routine of posting every Wednesday evening, I thought this would be a good one to start off with: for a bit of insight into me ๐Ÿ˜Š

A is for: Almond Milk

No more cow’s milk (or cream) for me, so I’m onto the alternatives! Almond milk is my go-to.

B is for: Bish

My wonderful husband, my best friend of 10 years, and my rock.

C is for: Cake

I love cake. Cake is my weakness.

D is for: Dance

Obvs. If you don’t know what my relationship with dance is, where have you been? ๐Ÿ™Š

E is for: Eating

I. LOVE. TO. EAT.

F is for: Friends

Special friends who are always there, always supportive, and whom I will love forever.

G is for: Gardening

My favourite summer past time – there’s just something about weeding/planting/sorting/making things pretty, that’s really satisfying.

H is for: Hufflepuff

My Hogwarts house. Say what you want about Hufflepuffs, but we’re brilliant because we have ALL the traits of ALL the other houses – the sorting hat has no choice but to put us there ๐Ÿ˜‰

I is for: Italy

The next country I want to visit!

J is for: Jelly Babies

The only sweets I hate.

K is for: Kinky Boots

One of my top 2 fave musicals AND it was my Hen Do surprise, so it will always have a special place in my heart – as will my hens.

L is for: Late

I will ALWAYS leave home 5 minutes after I plan to. I’ll never be late to where I’m going, but I’ll always be RUSHING.

M is for: Mexican Food

My fave cuisine – as long as it’s gluten free! ๐Ÿคค

N is for: Netflix

What did we do before Netflix?! I love a Netflix BINGE!

O is for: Overthinker

Yep, I’m a huge over thinker, particularly when it comes to my career – but it doesn’t help anxiety either.

P is for: Positivity

I’d like to think I’m quite a bubbly person, I try to bring positivity to every corner of my life.

Q is for: Queen

The band behind Ed’s current employment! I’ve always loved their music, but now it’s something even more special, because of the We Will Rock You tour. I can’t WAIT until my next visit to the iPlanet!

R is for: Rubis

CHOCOLATE WINE. It’s heaven.ย

S is for: Singing

Dance consumes most of my life, but it isn’t my only theatrical love. I trained in Musical Theatre, so I did it all. And I love to sing.

T is for: Theatre

So much of my life revolves around theatre and I feel so grateful and lucky to be able to say that I turned my hobby into a career.

U is for: Underactive

I have an underactive thyroid – which means my thyroid doesn’t produce enough hormones and I have to pop pills daily to keep my levels ‘normal’. It got diagnosed in my final year of college, and it affected my final few months there because when it isn’t medicated correctly, I feel dizzy/have a feeling of vertigo. Which isn’t ideal when you’re a dancer, and I hate that it spoiled my time/opportunities at college. Although I still get affected by it now and then when my medication doesn’t work correctly (which is usually when I’m over worked/run down/under rested/under nourished), life is much easier to get on with these days.

V is for: Viva

Little Voldy, my Vauxhall Viva, is my first ever car! We’ve been together for 2 years.

W is for: Walks

The best way to de-stress. I love walks, whether that’s alone or with Ed.

X is for: Xmas

I know it’s a bit of a cheat, but X is hard ๐Ÿ˜‚ And Christmas is my favourite time of the year!

Y is for: Yorkshire

My gorgeous home county. I was away from it for 5 years when I was training/living in London – never again!

Z is for: Zzz

Yessssssssss I love to sleep, who doesn’t ๐Ÿ˜‚

Bullet Journal for Bloggers

A couple of months ago, having seen a lot of fellow bloggers mention Bullet Journals in their tweets, I thought I’d see what all the fuss was about, and invested myself – and I’m so glad I did!

Until then, I’d used my phone and iPad to keep notes, gather ideas and store anything blog related. Since I took it all a bit more seriously at the beginning of the summer, it was all just getting too much for my little ‘Notes’ app to cope with, and I decided I needed a notebook to help make everything easier.

To get a bit of inspiration, I googled some images, read a few posts about how other bloggers used theirs, and cracked on! A few of you had said you’d be interested in seeing how I got on with mine, so I’m going to share some of it with you nowย ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yearly Calendar

Fairly straight forward, and yes I have the calendar app on my phone too, but it’s good to have at the front of the journal to refer to quickly if I’m already writing.

Category Tracker

Seeing as I write about whatever topic takes my fancy at the time, I thought it might be helpful to keep an eye on the types of blogs I post. Colour coordinating like this means I can see at a glance what topic needs some more love, and what my next couple of posts could be.

Monthly Calendar

IMG_4585 (1).jpeg

This has so far proved to be the most helpful section of my journal. I mapped out the month and filled in my blog posts, Instagram posts and Pinterest posts (each month is in different colours too, October was orange and brown). As you can see, I’ve tried to spread out my post schedule, mainly because I have no idea what days are best to post on yet. I figured I’d give it a shot this way this month, and see how we go. Keeping a note of Insta and Pinterest has also proved to be REALLY handy: before now I’d just do it off the top of my head, but it’s one less thing to have floating around in there (which is really helpful with the craziness of life right now)!

Photo Plan

IMG_4587.jpeg

This one was new this month (a couple of days ago in fact), when I’d mapped out most of November on the monthly calendar. With so much going on, I thought it’d be a good idea to make a note of what photos were going to be needed (and when), and note them down so I can keep track of them easily, and (as before) without endless ideas just floating around in my head. It’s actually helped a lot so far, I already feel much more in control!

Post Ideas

IMG_4582

From there, I get into actual post ideas. Some ideas are categorised like this Beauty/Lifestyle page, (I’ve made space at the side to tick when posts are written, photos taken and published too).

IMG_4583

Other pages, like this ‘Fun Things About Moving House’ page, just a stand alone because there’s so many subheadings/notes to include.

And last but not least…

IMG_4562.jpeg

I mean, it’s November now, it’s definitely not too early to be planning for Blogmas!

And that’s where I’m up to so far! I’m going to take everything month by month, because I think that’ll real help maintain clarity about my blog and it’s content. If anyone wants to take inspiration from these pages, please do!
